Tell the story of how your business was founded.
“I decided I was tired of seeing mediocre bridal hair and makeup services after working at a top salon in Tyson’s Corner, and started servicing brides in the local area at a very affordable rate, on-site! This was unheard of, and many brides loved the convenience. After booking many weddings, I decided to add likeminded professionals to my team, which is when the company saw much growth. As one of the top bridal and event styling companies in the area, Stylist To Go is constantly evolving to cater to the needs of its clients.”
Why did you choose to move into Level Office’s Alexandria office space?
“After working out of my small apartment for a few months, I quickly saw my company growing in the new service we offered, which was lash extensions. I noticed the preference was to have a set location for this service, when my initial thought was that clients would prefer a mobile lash company. While we still offer mobile lash services, I’ve seen more growth when having a modern, easily accessible location to work from.”
When did you first feel successful?
“I first felt successful when I was able to quit my full time salon job, and quickly balance out my schedule with existing mobile clients, and earn just as much, if not more than previously earned while at the salon.”
What has been the greatest reward in starting a business?
“As a mother of three small kiddos, having my own schedule, and complete control over my schedule was essential. Spending more time with my kids while growing my business at the same time has been very rewarding. Wouldn’t change it for the world!”
What has been the key to your company’s success?
“Taking action when a client voices a concern or inconvenience. Listening to those that choose you out of the hundreds of other vendors is essential in building loyalty and gaining positive reviews from a client’s satisfaction in being heard, even if things didn’t go so well for him/ her the first time around. Always bettering your company is the right path toward success.”
